What is Jupiter?

Jupiter (JUP) is the governance token of Jupiter, the largest trading aggregator on Solana. When a user wants to swap one token for another, Jupiter searches across many decentralized exchanges and liquidity pools to find the best price, splitting the trade across routes if that gives a better result.

Jupiter has grown well beyond swaps. It offers limit orders, dollar-cost averaging, a perpetual futures exchange, a lending product and a launchpad for new tokens, plus a mobile app and wallet tools. Much of the trading volume on Solana passes through Jupiter in some form.

JUP holders vote in the Jupiter DAO on proposals that shape the platform, and the project is known for its large community airdrops, known as "Jupuary". Part of protocol revenue has been set aside to buy back JUP.
