What is OKB?
OKB is the utility token of OKX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. It was launched in 2018 and is used to get lower trading fees, take part in token launch events and access special earning products on the exchange.
OKB is also the gas token of X Layer, OKX's own layer-2 network, which is compatible with Ethereum. Developers can build apps on X Layer that connect to the OKX exchange and wallet, giving OKB a role beyond simple fee discounts.
OKX has burned large amounts of OKB over the years, including a major burn that reduced total supply to a fixed amount of about 21 million tokens. Like other exchange tokens, OKB's value is closely tied to the health and growth of its exchange.
