What is Mantle?
Mantle (MNT) is the token of the Mantle ecosystem, which is built around Mantle Network, an Ethereum layer-2 network, and a set of financial products. The project grew out of BitDAO, one of the largest DAO treasuries in crypto, and is closely associated with the Bybit exchange.
Mantle Network processes transactions off the Ethereum main chain to cut fees while relying on Ethereum for security. The ecosystem also includes mETH, a liquid staked ether product, FBTC, a bitcoin product for use in DeFi, and index and treasury products that connect traditional and decentralized finance.
MNT is used to pay gas fees on Mantle Network, to vote on governance and to take part in ecosystem rewards. Mantle's large treasury funds development and incentives for projects building on the network.
