What is USDD?
USDD is a stablecoin on the TRON blockchain designed to stay at one US dollar. It was launched in 2022 by the TRON DAO Reserve and later upgraded to a new version that is over-collateralized, meaning it is backed by crypto assets worth more than the USDD in circulation.
Users can mint USDD by locking assets such as TRX, USDT or other supported tokens as collateral. A peg stability module lets users swap between USDD and other major stablecoins at a fixed rate, which helps keep its price close to a dollar. USDD holders can also earn yield by staking it.
USDD is used across TRON's DeFi ecosystem, including lending and trading platforms. It has lost its peg briefly in the past during market stress, so it is important to understand how its collateral works before using it.
