Ann Smith Bedsole was an American politician, businesswoman, community activist and philanthropist. She was the first Republican woman to serve in the Alabama House of Representatives and the first woman to serve in the Alabama Senate. In 2002, she was inducted into the Alabama Academy of Honor.
