With wonderful deathless ditties
Quote byArthur O'Shaughnessy · 1844–1881
Commonly attributed — not confirmed in an authoritative edition. Cited on Wikiquote to: Ode (1873), At least as early as 1921 there seem to have arisen variants with "trample an empire down", but the 1847 original has "trample a kingdom down.".
English (original)

But we, with our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see
