Salem's Lot is a 1979 American horror television miniseries directed by Tobe Hooper, and adapted by Paul Monash from the 1975 novel 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King. It stars David Soul, James Mason, Lance Kerwin, Bonnie Bedelia and Lew Ayres. The plot concerns a writer who returns to his hometown and discovers that its citizens are turning into vampires.
