Queen of the Damned
Queen of the Damned is a 2002 horror film directed by Michael Rymer from a screenplay by Scott Abbott and Michael Petroni. It is based on the 1988 novel The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice, the third novel of the book series The Vampire Chronicles, although the film contains many plot elements from the novel's 1985 predecessor, The Vampire Lestat. A stand-alone sequel to Interview with the Vampir

"Come, let me show you what it means to live in the light."
"[At start and voice over] There comes a time for every vampire when the idea of eternity becomes momentarily unbearable. Living in the shadows, feeding in the darkness with only your own company to keep, rots into a solitary, hollow existence. Immortality seems like a good idea, until you realize youre going to spend it alone. So I went to sleep, hoping that the sounds of the passing eras would fade out, and a sort of death might happen. But as I lay there, the world didnt sound like the place I had left, but something different. [Rock music starts] Better. It became worthwhile to rise again as new gods were born and worshipped. Night and day, they were never alone. I would become one of them. [Feeds on a pimp] Whether it was that first meal, or a hundred years of rest, Im not sure. But suddenly I was feeling better than ever. My senses so high they led me straight to the instrument of my resurrection, playing in my old house."
"[In a TV interview cast worldwide, talking to all the vampires listening] Come out, come out, wherever you are."
"[To Jessie] Well, I can fix that."
"Maybe Im trying to resurrect a few old friends. Daring them to come out."
"The question provoked an irresistible urge...I am the vampire Lestat. It just rolled out of my mouth. With one simple sentence I had betrayed everything about my kind. Betrayed our code of secrecy."
"The faces of my victims haunted me, reminding me of my fate... For nights and nights I played, furious. Never again I would participate in the simple joys of life. I was meant for more than this."
"But why must we hide, Marius? We are the powerful, we are the immortal. We should walk fearless in the open!"
"This may be painful for a mortal. Youre still attached to your skin."
"Such reverence for mortals! Then you should have left me as one!"
"Its definitely fun to explore that side of yourself and that side of yourself that you keep hidden in your everyday life because you know youre not supposed to go there unless its absolutely necessary"
